City of Bad Krozingen
The city of Bad Krozingen (20,549 inhabitants) belongs to the district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald and is located on the southern Upper Rhine about 15km from Freiburg. In addition to trade, commerce and services, the economic focus is primarily on the areas of medicine, rehabilitation and health care.
As a health location with a wide range of spa and wellness facilities in the Upper Rhine Valley, the city is particularly affected by summer heat. The effects of drought on agriculture (cultivation of special crops such as tobacco, asparagus and strawberries) and water supply play a major role here.
The city has had an integrated climate protection concept since 2013. Bad Krozingen has had a climate protection manager since 2021.
