The city of Kehl (35,695 inhabitants) is located in the Upper Rhine lowlands and in the immediate vicinity of the French city of Strasbourg. A total of around 3,000 mainly medium-sized companies are located here, operating in the steel, paper, cosmetics and automotive sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The city of Kehl presented the results of an urban climate analysis in spring 2020. In addition to the issue of heat, invasive species and floods (floodplain of the Rhine, Kinzig and Schutter rivers) are currently the main focus in the context of adaptation to climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A climate protection concept was adopted in 2013 with the aim of reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the city of Kehl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
